To assist with implementation
of the new policy, the Department has developed support material.
This material includes a school evaluation matrix to help
schools plan for change, evaluation of current practice and
planning for implementation action grids, use of the five point descriptor scale
guided discussions and developing consistent teacher judgement
processes.
In managing the K-6 curriculum, the department has also developed
curriculum support materials including: (1) curriculum framework (2) COGS and (3) examples of assessment tasks. These supplement the
work of the Board of Studies which has developed Foundation
statements for each of the K-6 syllabuses, emphasising teaching,
assessing and reporting processes.
Reporting software and further professional development support
will be available in 2006 and beyond.
