Illustrators

Illustrators eligibility list for 2012 is now OPEN.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING PORTFOLIOS: 1 OCTOBER

From 1 July to 1 October each year, The School Magazine updates its eligibility list for occasional or regular commissioned work for issues of The School Magazine. Before you apply, we suggest you familiarise yourself with our publication (copies are held in many children's libraries, as well as in university and state libraries).

Artists on our eligibility list are sent texts to illustrate throughout the year, including poems, stories, plays, nonfiction articles and activities. We value a broad range of artistic styles and techniques. Artists retain the rights to their work, and are paid at a reduced rate for the re-use of their work in subsequent years.

During the July to October period, we invite expressions of interest from accomplished artists who feel they have the appropriate skills and experience to illustrate literary texts for children.
