The Technology Unit of Curriculum K-12 Directorate is presenting the following workshops for technology teachers in NSW public schools in Semester 2 2009:
Laptops for learning in technology subjects
This workshop will feature quality teaching strategies to enhance teacher capacity to use 1:1 laptops effectively in technology subjects. Agenda.

Advanced multimedia: Digital media in technology subjects
The Advanced multimedia workshop is designed for teachers of multimedia in:
- Industrial Technology (Stages 5 and 6)
- Design and Technology (Stages 5 and 6)
- Information Processes and Technology
- Information and Software Technology
- Graphics Technology
Pre-requisite skills | Basic understanding of Adobe Flash including animation, tweening, and layering. |
Requirements | Laptop loaded with Adobe CS4 Flash. (Trial Adobe CS4 Flash can be downloaded free or obtained through DET licensing in June.) |
The Advanced Multimedia workshop provides the opportunity to extend skills in the creation of interactive applications, using Adobe CS4 Flash. There is a focus on advanced animation techniques, interactivity with an introduction to actionscript (the programming language behind Adobe Flash) and incorporating Flash video content in a project. These skills will be modelled in a project based approach that reflects the outcomes from the syllabuses listed above.
