The Technology Unit of Curriculum K-12 Directorate is presenting the following workshops for technology teachers in NSW public schools in Semester 2 2009:

Laptops for learning in technology subjects

This workshop will feature quality teaching strategies to enhance teacher capacity to use 1:1 laptops effectively in technology subjects. Agenda.

Advanced multimedia: Digital media in technology subjects

The Advanced multimedia workshop is designed for teachers of multimedia in:

  • Industrial Technology (Stages 5 and 6)
  • Design and Technology (Stages 5 and 6)
  • Information Processes and Technology 
  • Information and Software Technology
  • Graphics Technology

Pre-requisite skills   

Basic understanding of Adobe Flash including animation, tweening, and layering.

Requirements               

Laptop loaded with Adobe CS4 Flash.  (Trial Adobe CS4 Flash can be downloaded free or obtained through DET licensing in June.)

The Advanced Multimedia workshop provides the opportunity to extend skills in the creation of interactive applications, using Adobe CS4 Flash. There is a focus on advanced animation techniques, interactivity with an introduction to actionscript (the programming language behind Adobe Flash) and incorporating Flash video content in a project. These skills will be modelled in a project based approach that reflects the outcomes from the syllabuses listed above.
