It is timely now to reflect on the implementation of the Years 7-10 PDHPE syllabus and think about new, innovative and engaging ways of teaching the syllabus content in order to make it relevant and intriguing for students. This link will provide you with some practical ideas for different ways to present content in order to get students critically thinking about what they are learning.

The following links provide information on resources that are available to support the programming and teaching of PDHPE Years 7-10.
DET resource list
Over the past few years, the Department of Education and Training and other outside agencies have produced a variety of resources to help support schools in the effective delivery of PDHPE programs. The following link will take you to a checklist of all of the resources that have been produced and distributed free of charge to schools. Some of these resources may not have been distributed directly to the PDHPE faculty and therefore it may be necessary to locate the resources through other members of the school, such as the librarian, welfare team, deputy principal or principal. In the case that hard copies of the resource cannot be located, teachers can access electronic copies of many of the resources through the Internet resources section of this web site.
Stage 4 resource list
A list of resources linked directly to the Stage 4 content of the new PDHPE Years 7-10 syllabus has been developed. This link will allow teachers to access the resource list for Stage 4.
These documents will be regularly updated to include teacher suggestions and newly released resources.
Stage 5 resource list
A list of resources linked directly to the Stage 5 content of the new PDHPE Years 7-10 syllabus has been developed. This link will allow teachers to access the resource list for Stage 5 PDHPE.
Use of videos in schools
Teachers should preview video resources prior to use with their classes. Although they are listed as useful resources when working with areas of content, it is important to ensure that they are used in the correct context to enhance learning for students. Teachers should also be aware of the Department’s policy for the Use of Videos in Schools which provides guidelines for teachers when making decisions about the viewing of videos recordings as a teaching tool.
