Analysing performance results
In PDHPE, students are often required to organise and record information in tables or interpret data presented in a table. This can be in relation to various epidemiology statistics and other health information, or analysis of fitness and sports performance results.
- Discuss with students the components of a balanced lifestyle. Ask students to complete a weekly lifestyle analysis table by recording data for a week in a table such as that shown below.

- Calculate how much time they allocate to each lifestyle component. Discuss whether they consider themselves to have a balanced lifestyle. Identify the characteristics of a balanced lifestyle.
- Discuss how lifestyle balance may change for people of different sociocultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Read and discuss the Australian Physical Activity Recommendations for 12-18 year olds (Department of Health and Ageing, 2004). Ask students to evaluate whether they are currently meeting these recommendations.
- Propose strategies that could increase the amount of daily physical activity for those students who are not meeting the recommended levels.
