Mathematics 7-10 professional learning activity
Supporting new scheme mathematics teachers
The focus of this one day workshop is on the professional learning needs of new scheme teachers teaching mathematics 7-12. New scheme mathematics teachers are teachers in their first, second or third year of teaching aiming for professional competence accreditation.
Workshop sessions will include:
- The role of the mathematics teacher
- How to enjoy teaching mathematics - strategies to engage learners
- Professional competence standards for mathematics
- Gathering evidence for accreditation
Teachers who wish to register for this workshop need to be approved by the Principal to attend.
This workshop is available to NSW DET teachers only.
Registrations close five working days before the scheduled workshop.
What to bring:
- 7-10 mathematics syllabus (Contact the NSW Board of Studies for your own copy of the syllabus if you do not have one)

Curriculum K-12 professional learning.
Once registration is completed, participants will receive workshop confirmation, details of the venue and an agenda for the workshop.
A registration fee of $110 per day (incl. GST) for government schools will be charged for each participant. This fee includes morning tea and lunch and all workshop materials.
