Professional learning
Research, curriculum and professional learning are all interrelated in the mathematics projects carried out in schools.
Professional learning activities
During semester 1 2010, Curriculum K-12 Mathematics will be presenting video conference format workshops for mathematics teachers, supplementing the workshops provided by regional consultants.
New courses include:
- Stage 5 GeoGebra a one hour practical workshop illustrating several short activities to teach Stage 5 mathematics using only the software program GeoGebra available on the laptop.
- Stage 5 Google SketchUp a one hour practical workshop illustrating several short activities to teach Stage 5 mathematics using only the software program Google SketchUp available on the laptop.
- Using the laptops for assessment a one hour workshop outlining practical strategies for providing meaningful feedback to students when using the laptops to learn mathematics.
