Study opportunities for teachers of German

Goethe-Institut L Scholarships
The Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with Curriculum K-12 Directorate, offers a limited number of primary and secondary teachers of German an opportunity to improve their knowledge of the German language and culture by attending a course at a Goethe-Institut in the Federal Republic of Germany. The courses are designed for teachers of German with a good knowledge of German and experience with German methodology and didactics. Applications for 2008/2009 have now closed but information for 2009/2010 will appear on this website as soon as it becomes available.

Goethe-Institut GDL Scholarships
The Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with Curriculum K-12 Directorate, offers a limited number of primary and secondary teachers of German an opportunity to improve their knowledge of the German language and culture by attending an eight-week residential course at a Goethe-Institut in the Federal Republic of Germany. The courses are designed for teachers of German wishing to improve their German language skills. Applications for 2008/2009 have now closed but information for 2009/2010 will appear on this website as soon as it becomes available.

Goethe-Institut German Summer School
Goethe-Institut Sydney is organising the 2009 German Summer School from 12 - 22 January 2009 at the University of Queensland, Brisbane. The Summer School is a 10 day German language and cultural immersion programme designed specifically around the needs of teachers and tertiary students of German. It provides a unique opportunity for participants to refresh and consolidate their German language skills and socio-political knowledge of Germany. The Curriculum K-12 Directorate will support a  limited number of teachers of primary and secondary schools to attend the German Summer School 2009.
