Using ICT in Years 7-10 dance
The new Years 7-10 Dance syllabus acknowledges the many developments in the area of dance and technology, and the significant opportunities that exist for student learning in dance through the use of ICT. Not only does the use of ICT in dance assist with learning in the classroom and the wider school context, but it also provides a continuum of learning with the study of Dance and Technology in Stage 6.
Types of ICT that can be used in Dance 7-10
| There are opportunities for a diverse range of technology to be used with Years 7-10 dance students, and each can be used for a variety of purposes. For example, students can use choreographic software to construct palettes of shapes to be used in dance composition, or use software applications to construct electronic dance journals incorporating performance, composition and appreciation components. Mandatory requirements in Years 7-10
The new syllabus states that it is mandatory for students to engage with ICT in dance at least through the use of word processing and use of the internet (page 18).
