About The Arts team
Welcome to The Arts at the NSW Curriculum and Learning Innovation Centre.
Margaret Bradley and Rach Kirsten are the two Senior Curriculum Support Officers, The Arts K-12. We provide support to Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts teachers in NSW public schools.
The Arts team provide support for syllabus implementation across The Arts and develop professional learning opportunities and online resources for teachers. We lead a range of national and state arts curriculum initiatives within NSW, provide policy advice for arts curriculum and liaise with agencies such as the NSW Board of Studies, Arts NSW, external organisations and arts industry and community groups.

artsXchange: schools
![]() | What is artsXchange? artsXchange is an opportunity for rural or remote (non-metropolitan) primary and secondary schools to apply for a grant to subsidise the cost of travel and/or tickets to a performance or exhibition at a NSW arts institution, venue or event. The artsXchange initiative is part of the ConnectEd Arts partnership that the NSW Curriculum and Learning Innovation Centre has with Arts NSW. In 2012 there will be up to 20 grants of up to $4,000 available through this partnership. artsXchange is designed to support schools to attend a nominated performance or exhibition and to then exchange ideas and to share aspects of arts teaching and learning with another school. Artistic practice would be the focus and could relate to making or studying practice in either dance, drama, music or visual arts - relevant to the art form (e.g. performance, composition, appreciation, listening, artmaking, critical and historical study). The artsXchange between the two schools must relate to the performance or exhibition that both schools attend. Learn more about artsXchange and download the 2012 application here. |
| The Artist in Schools program creates a unique opportunity for schools to collaborate with professional artists over a period of time. These programs provide unique opportunities for young people in New South Wales primary and secondary schools. Artists from many fields, including dance, drama, music, visual arts and digital media, work collaboratively with schools and communities to develop innovative projects. Professional learning for both artists and teachers is core to the program. CLICK HERE for further information the residencies that are taking place this year. |
