Scan home page

Scan is a quarterly journal produced by the NSW Department of Education and Training. Scan focuses on the interaction between information and effective student learning.

   Scan contains articles on:

  • teachers and teacher-librarians collaborating 
  • information literacy and supporting reading
  • integrating ICT (information communication technology) in teaching and learning
  • practical programming and teaching ideas
  • practical ideas for library management.

Stage 3 students use Windows Movie Maker to present their research on significant Australians whose lives have influenced our identities. Watch the video, Interviews with the famous and then read Rhonda Parnis’s article , Digital movie making in the library, in Scan 27(1), pp. 14–15

Scan also includes approximately 200 reviews of Internet sites and other resources to help teacher-librarians and teachers to select resources. Resources are available online some 10 weeks after the publication of Scan.
