Welcome to Project X

Project X is an exciting online learning experience bringing together students, teachers and music industry professionals from around the state.

Sydney composer Stephen Lalor will collaborate with Year 11 students from Nowra Technology High School and Normanhurst Boys High School in an online project which aims to extend students' skills, knowledge and understandings of contemporary musical composition.

Over a period of eight weeks, each class will develop two compositions, possibly based on one or more of the musical ideas from Guide Tracks in Studio X. Using MIDI technology they will submit their Midi Files, ideas and comments in Overdubs each week and Stephen will give feedback and suggestions for problem solving in the Control Room.

A process diary for each composition will be updated weekly in the Studio Log.

Completed compositions, together with the score, will be uploaded in the Final Mix at the conclusion of the project.
