The Tall Poppy Campaign was created by the Australian Institute of Political Science to recognise and celebrate Australian scientific and intellectual excellence and to encourage younger Australians to follow in the footsteps of our outstanding achievers.

The Tall Poppy Campaign promotes the achievements of Australian scientists through the award of the Florey Medal,The Young Tall Poppy Science Awards, and science-related and educational events.

The Young Tall Poppy Program identifies and acknowledges outstanding young Australian researchers and engages them to foster a stronger interest in science in schools and the broader community.

Educational Resources

 Young Tall Poppies participate in workshops and conferences with science teachers and curriculum consultants. Educational resources based on the research of Tall Poppies have been developed and are available to schools. Curriculum Materials include:
