Kid's Design Challenge
The Kids' Design Challenge provides a unique opportunity for Stages 1 to 4 students (yrs 1 to 8) to participate in a real-life design tasks of importance to the community.
For students: Promote powerful student learning about contemporary issues in science and technology through authentic tasks of personal and community relevance.
For teachers: KDC provides a practice-based professional learning program to enhance teacher subject-area knowledge and skills and support implementation of quality, action-oriented projects.

- Stage 1 Students investigate the living environment of the school to propose some action to make it a better place in which all sorts of plants and animals can live. Commences: April, 2009 | - Stages 2 and 4 Students evaluate water usage in their school or local built environment and propose changes to reduce water consumption and promote water saving strategies. Commences: July, 2009

KDC-NRMA TechnoPush Challenge Students design and construct a pushcart to participate in a series of performance challenges at the KDC-NRMA TechnoPush Challenge Event. Commences: March, 2009
| - Stages 3 and 4 Students design an advertising campaign, aimed at primary students, to promote grain foods as an important part of a healthy diet. They produce prototype advertising materials and submit their campaign plan Go Grains Health and Nutrition client. Commences: July, 2009
