Active Lifestyle is concerned with students adopting activity patterns that promote their wellbeing. In this strand, students have the opportunity to examine the components of a balanced lifestyle, explore options for recreation and develop the skills and attitudes necessary for an active lifestyle.

Policy Standards for Curriculum Planning and Programming, Assessing and Reporting to Parents K – 12  indicate that "...schools are to include two hours per week for planned physical activity, including in Years 3 – 6, a minimum of one hour for sport..."
