Literacy
The Literacy website provides a range of materials for schools, teachers and parents. This website includes key policy statements that provide clear positions on how the explicit and systematic teaching of literacy will take place in all classrooms from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Many Literacy policies and guidelines are based on the English K-6 Syllabus. These materials provide support for teachers in the teaching of reading, writing and talking and listening in each of the primary Key Learning Areas including English. These documents are downloadable.

Teaching reading in...series is designed to help teachers put into practice the ideas in Teaching reading: a K-6 framework. Each book provides a guide to the implementation of a balanced reading program, information and proformas for the organisation of a daily literacy session, two teaching units, and information for teachers on using the book to support their own professional learning. The teaching units are structured in a two week daily format, and include instructions on preparation, student assessment and evaluation. Each book has an accompanying brochure that includes strategies for the effective use of the book.
