Units of work

These drama units provide sequences of learning activities developed for students in Early Stage 1. They are linked to a variety of topics and themes suitable for K–6 classrooms.

Early Stage 1 Chants and rhymes (pdf - 180 KB)

In this unit students work in improvisation, movement and reader's theatre to develop and present a performance based on a selection of traditional, contemporary and student-devised chants and rhymes.

Early Stage 1 Colours (pdf - 156 KB)

Students explore their understanding of colours as they develop and perform work in improvisation and movement.

Students respond to a piece of instrumental music to develop and perform a story.
