Creative arts and COGs

Sequenced learning activities for creative arts subjects of dance, drama, music and visual arts are embedded in the COGs. This area of our site is dedicated to providing you with additional support to implement COGs and to enhance teaching in creative arts. Click on the active links (unit titles in bold) below to access teaching support or assessment support. In assessment support each work sample is accompanied by a description of the task, outcomes assessed, assessment strategies and criteria and a comment about the sample.

Units of work are available on the Time to Teach site. Additional support materials can be found throughout the creative arts area and will be listed here when developed.

Stage 3: Dance in Living Land
This sample sequence of learning activities has been adapted from the Stage 3 unit of work Living Land. The learning experiences expand on the information available in the COG unit to provide teachers with further strategies for addressing the needs of students with varying abilities in dance.

Lie of the land is a unit of work from a project titled Literacy and numeracy through the arts. The unit supports visual arts activities in the Stage 3 COGs unit LIVING LAND. The full unit can be found at: http://www.curriculumsupport.education.nsw.gov.au/litnum/lieoftheland/index.html

Into the Frame - Dream of an Ancient Tablet is a unit of work from a project titled Literacy and numeracy through the arts. The unit supports dance activities in the Stage 3 COGs unit SYMBOL SYSTEMS. PIXEL AND FRIENDS – THE COLOUR SHOW

Pixel logo

Pixel & Friends is a playful and vivid journey through the colour spectrum - told in dance, live music and digital animation.

The performance will be presented at The Powerhouse Museum on 1-11 April 2008.
