School and student travel
Travel to and from school is a parent and carer responsibility.

Active travel is any journey that relies more on walking or cycling and less on using private cars. This section of the website provides guidance and information for schools in regard to riding bikes, scooters, skateboards and roller blades to and from school, walking to and from school and information about bicycle education.
Bus travel involves any activity in which students are transported by bus. This section of the website provides information and advice about bus travel for Departmental activities, school bus warning systems and managing school student behaviour on buses and trains.
Motor vehicle travel involves the use of private motor vehicles by students, staff and parents for different activities. This section of the website provides information and advice on parking on school premises, the use of private motor vehicles by students and the use of private motor vehicles by parents and staff to transport students to and from Departmental activities.
Excursions involving transport off the school site often requires the consideration of road and transport safety. This section of the website provides links to the Department's policy on excursions.
