This aspect of the PDHPE website provides teachers with the implementation guidelines for the road safety education policy and support for teaching and learning about road safety.
The leading cause of death and serious injury for young children is traffic-related crashes. To promote the health and wellbeing of children in the traffic environment, school PDHPE programs should include a significant road safety focus.
Limiting risks, protecting lives
 | This new resource focuses on teaching driver education as part of Stage 5 PDHPE and the Stage 6 Crossroads course. Limiting risks, protecting lives aims to stimulate teachers’ thinking around how they challenge student attitudes and behaviours as pdrivers and passengers in motor vehicles. All schools will receive a copy of the new RTA resource Limiting risks, protecting lives.
