Numeracy K-12 Policy
The Numeracy K-12 Policy describes the role of teachers in developing students' numeracy skills to support specific numeracy demands across key learning areas. It outlines how assessment data guides the development of numeracy programs and provides information to parents, caregivers and communities.
This policy was developed under the State Numeracy Plan 2006–2008, which guides the work of schools, regions and state office directorates to achieve further numeracy improvements for all students in NSW public schools.
More information about the State Numeracy Plan 2006–2008, Departmental numeracy programs and support for parents, can be found at the Kindergarten–Year 6 Mathematics and Years 7–12 Mathematics sections of this site.
