Starting Kindergarten: Assessing literacy and numeracy using Foundation outcomes (516kb)

Starting Year 1: Assessing literacy and numeracy using Early Stage 1 outcomes  (376kb)

Starting Year 3: Assessing literacy and numeracy using Stage 1 outcomes (436kb)

Classroom Assessment Resource provide Stage 2 and 3 teachers with strategies for effective outcomes based assessment in literacy and numeracy. The assessment tasks have been constructed to support teachers when assessing students in the regular classroom and resemble typical teaching and learning experiences suggested in the English K-6 and Mathematics K-6 syllabus documents. They model effective teaching practice as a basis for worthwhile assessment opportunities. The materials were distributed to schools in 2002 as two folders, one for Stage 2 and another for Stage 3. Each folder also included a copy of "A Grammar Companion for Primary Teachers" by Beverley Derewianka, a reference book for teachers.
