Focus on literacy: Writing recognises that learning to write involves developing skills, knowledge and understandings at all stages of schooling. This document presents the historical context of teaching writing and explains in detail the current approach, based on the social view of language. It provides guidelines for teaching writing, including what and how to teach, as well as information for planning and assessment.
