Curriculum support for NSW Public Schools

Welcome to the Information and communication technologies (ICT) and curriculum webpage.

What follows is an attempt to capture existing, new and emerging information to support the connected learning - the use of interactive technologies in teaching and learning – from various areas across the NSW Department of Education and Training, research, reports and initiatives from overseas that might motivate and inform our practice.

The sections that follow are designed to answer some of the BIG questions around the successful integration of ICT into the use of ICT to engage students and teachers in quality teaching and learning.

  • Our students – how can we meet the learning needs of our 21st century learners?
  • ICT capabilities – how can we improve students capacity to use ICT to enhance their learning?
  • A digital school – what opportunities does digital technology afford that enhance the quality of education?
  • An interactive classroom – how can ICT learning tools and interactive technologies have a positive impact on student engagement and learning?
  • Curriculum enhancement – how can teaching and learning be enhanced through the use of digital technologies?
  • Pedagogical approaches – what are the most effective pedagogical approaches when incorporating interactive technologies in teaching and learning?
