Reading Recovery is a safety net designed to promote literacy learning and reduce the number of students struggling with reading and writing.
Reading Recovery has existed in NSW schools since 1984, and has been an ongoing NSW government commitment since 1996.
Professional training is conducted by highly skilled educators with clearly defined roles and responsibilities:
- Trainers train and support tutors at a designated training centre
- Tutors train and support teachers at regional training centres
- Teachers work directly with up to 6 students on a daily basis
