Consistency using Connected Outcomes Groups (COGs)

a flexible curriculum planning, programming and assessing framework
The curriculum planning framework and programming support, including COGs,  assists schools in managing the curriculum for all six key learning areas across the stages of primary schooling. The framework includes connected outcomes groups (COGs) for the key learning areas of HSIE, SciTech, Creative Arts and PDHPE. Programming support is provided for English and Mathematics, in accordance with the Eltis recommendation that priority be given to the teaching of English and Mathematics.

Connected Outcomes Groups (COGs) for the key learning areas of HSIE, SciTech, Creative Arts and PDHPE:

  • naturally connect through similar content, processes or skills
  • make programming manageable by connecting similar content, processes and skills
  • connect ideas for students to maximise their learning
  • allow the curriculum to be taught more efficiently
  • ensure a balanced coverage of all key learning areas.

For more information about the Curriculum Planning Framework and Programming Support go to: Time to teachWork samples for the COGs units are available.
